Good Luck Birding!
One of the oldest fossils found with feathers, Archaeopteryx lithographica was found near Blumenberg, Germany in 1877 and is about 150 million years old. Named after the limestone quarry where the original fossil was discovered, Archaeopteryx lithographica means “ANCIENT WING FROM THE PRINTING STONE”. This sterling silver keychain is a beautiful depiction of that fossil and is shaped like an egg to signify the age old question “which came first, the chicken or the egg?” As with the Archaeopteryx, it is believed to have had scales and teeth like a reptile but, also, feathers. Did it descend from the dinosaurs or was it always a bird? The argument goes on. The Birders Luck Amulet, designed by Poo Wright-Pulliam and beautifully carved by John C. Caccia, is cast with almost a full ounce of sterling silver and measures 1 1/8" long by 7/8" wide, the full length of the key chain with hand-braided leather fob and ring is 4 1/2". The Ancient Wing design is on the front and a feather with the words "Ancient Wing" is on the back. Amulet means: something worn to protect against evil. Use it to bring you great birding adventures and great birds. BIRD ON! Amulet comes with hand-braided leather in black or brown. Choose BLACK or BROWN
